SENH Scholarships
SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT: Up to two (2) Scholarships may be awarded annually at $1,000 each as follows:
Arthur W. Rose, Jr. Memorial Scholarship: $1,000
Arthur “Art” Rose, PE was an original member of SENH in 1994, a NH Engineer of the Year recipient and a tremendous asset to the engineering profession and his community. Art was involved in countless SENH committees, the Board of Directors, and was a tireless legal liaison regarding engineering legislation. He will always be remembered in the structural engineering field for putting the safety and trust of the public above all else. This scholarship will be awarded to applicants who demonstrate the understanding that the structural engineering field has direct implications on the quality of life and public safety.
SENH Younger Members Group Scholarship: $1,000
The SENH Younger Members Group has the goal of introducing structural engineers who are new to the profession to the benefits of sharing experience and knowledge to continually improve the structural engineering profession. This scholarship will be awarded to applicants who demonstrate the understanding that teamwork and shared experiences benefit all of those involved in our field.
ADDITIONAL BENEFITS:
- Sponsored attendance at the annual Engineering Week Banquet for recognition of scholarship selection.
- Free membership to the Structural Engineers of New Hampshire and free admission to all sponsored dinner meetings. Important – We encourage your involvement with the SENH Younger Members Group!
NOTE TO APPLICANT
To be eligible for an SENH scholarship, applicants must be a student enrolled in the ABET Accredited Civil Engineering Program of the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences (CEPS) at the University of New Hampshire or be a NH resident enrolled in an out-of-state College or University with an ABET (Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology) accredited Civil Engineering Program. Furthermore, the student must be proceeding into junior or senior year in the fall of 2025 with coursework focusing on the discipline of structural engineering, and must not be a previous scholarship recipient.
Deadline for applications is Friday, December 6, 2024. Awards to be announced by mid-February 2024.
